How a project is recorded has plenty of influence, as in this one album we did years ago. A friend asked me about comfortable spots to record, and we realized they were far more comfortable where they performed instead of a studio.
So we booked up coffee shops during off hours and set up recording studios on location, and did some performances live, and some overdubbed. It was a tremendous amout of fun and changed the sound dramatically from a recording in one studio. The locations influenced every decision, and that's part of producing.
